Dublin trafic

You are never going to give up your auld cars, are you? Especially not your shiny new cars. After seven (or is it eight?) hundred years of oppression you DO want to step in to your new cars and hurtle yourself freely along the streets of Dublin at...is it six miles an hour at rush hour?
So you sit in a brand new shiny car with blackened windows and roll down the road at six miles an hour. That way you can combine an "almost Latin disregard for time" ( I quote Benedict Kiely - I don't make all this stuff up, you know) with the satisfaction of knowing that your car COULD also move at 150 miles an hour.
Makes sense, eh ?

Dublin could be heaven

I have been riding on my bike all summer. My conclusion is - the bike is the only way forward! And the bus, the tram and the occasional taxi for the rainy days. The private car is such an antisocial destroyer of civilized city living. And probably the root cause of the obesity epidemic.
The city would look spacious without the cars, the air would be cleaner and and walking could become a pleasure again. Need I go on? Are you with me on this one?
